Allege defaulting in providing amenities in Lodha Meridian

Residents of Lodha Meridian Society, KPHB Colony, organised a demonstration near their residential complex on Saturday, protesting against the builder, allegedly defaulting in provision of certain amenities.

The project was launched in June, 2012, and the flats were handed over only after October, 2016, a year later than the promised date.

Due to lack of space for car parking for the 748 flats, the residents were being offered a leased car parking in the adjacent campus. Over ₹4 lakh was collected from each occupant for parking, Kiran Kumar Lumburu, the vice-president of the society complained.

Initial brochures showed 30 storey towers with parking at the lower levels.

The builder later built 34-storey towers without building any basements for parking. There is also not enough space for visitor parking as per GHMC norms, he said.

Though a 20,000 sqft club house was promised, only 8,000 sft was built, even as the flat-owners ended up paying ₹1.53 lakh as club charges.

Though three blocks with 554 flats were planned, two additional blocks were constructed with 200 more flats, without any intimation to the buyers. Due to this, very minimal open space is left, which is not in compliance with GHMC norms.

The builder has charged us ₹99 per sft for infrastructure which ranges from 1.5lakh to 2.5 lakh depending on the size of the flat. Besides, he failed to provide a range of amenities as promised, including cricket pitch, tennis court, temple, gaming zone and others. The elevators too, at three per a tower of 350 flats, were insufficient.

Fire refuge areas too were converted into flats and sold, and helipad requirement for high rise towers too was not met in one of the blocks. Multiple mails and requests have gone without favourable response. Grievances have also been submitted to GHMC, but no response has come so far, Mr.Kiran Kumar said. Attempts to contact builder for his version have not succeeded.
