Congress workers and functionaries of its peasant wing, Congress Kisan Khet, submitted a memorandum to Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao on Wednesday, urging the State government to release the interest amount of farm credit waiver scheme.
On the occasion, DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan sought to remind the gathering that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the Legislative Assembly on November 17 last year had promised that if details of the interest to be waived off were submitted to the House, he would sanction it.
In response, Congress Legislative Party gave details to Assembly Speaker. However, even after three months, the CM hasn’t acted on his promise, said Mr. Hamdan.

District Congress Committee leaders led by its president K. Mruthyunjayam submitted a memorandum to Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad on Wednesday urging the government to pay the interest amount caused due to waiver of crop loans to the farmers in the State in a phased manner, which had burdened them.
