Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the State government was ready to issue any orders, instructions or pass legislations conforming to the recommendations by public representatives after they completed consultations on uplift of BCs.

The government was committed to implement any action plan prepared by public representatives. It was ready to implement the plan cent per cent, Mr. Rao told the meeting.

He wanted the public representatives to consult all communities among BCs before making recommendations to the government. They should suggest how the BC Finance Corporation and the Most Backward Classes Finance Corporation should function. They must come up with schemes offering financial assistance through the corporation without bank linkage. The government had no objection to rectify mistakes in the existing policies for BCs. The new policies, schemes and measures should be prepared in a manner that they left no scope for alteration in future.

Mr. Rao said the government aimed to develop BCs in all fields as they constituted more than half of the State’s population. The governemnt was already implementing several programmes for their welfare but some more measures were required to improve their standard of living.

The Statehood for Telangana was achieved with lofty ideals. Hence, all sections of people in the State should develop. No section should live with inferiority complex nor dominated by others. This principle should set a path breaking agenda for the government. The ₹1.25 lakh crore budget of the State should be spent on eradicating poverty in the State.

Elaborating on the steps already taken by the government for BCs, Mr. Rao said all caste groups of BCs, except cobblers, depended on hereditary professions. But, they suffered despite having skills as assistance to the professions pursued by them was lacking.

The meeting was attended by ministers, Legislative Council Chairman K. Swamy Goud, Speaker of the Assembly Madhusudhana Chary and senior officials.
