Bad road condition

Though there is plan to make skyway from Jubilee bus stand to Shamirpet, there is not a single stretch of 3 to 5 km in city which is in a good condition. The GHMC has enough money, but quality of work with recent carpeting work at NGRI Metro station and Habsiguda metro station indicate such a shabby work. Citizens do not need six lanes but good two or three lanes are sufficient with proper bus bay, footpath free from vendors, poles or trees.

Exorbitant property tax

I am a retired person and resident of an individual house in East Marredpally since 1984. I have been regularly paying the property tax all these years. Recently, GHMC deputed a property tax collector, who told me that an outstanding payment of ₹ 8,000 was pending on my property. I checked online and was shocked to find my property tax was raised by 400%, without any intimation or proper justification.

My residence is 30+ years old and is being used only for residential purposes. I gave representation to the GHMC Secunderabad office requesting re-valuation of my case. But, nobody visited and instead a notice was sent claiming outstanding payment, failing which there would be a penalty interest. I request the GHMC to kindly reconsider my petition and do the right thing.

Drainage overflow

The Road No.5, Deepthisree Nagar, connecting the PJR Road up to the Deepthisree Nagar Community Park in Serlingampally circle has lot of schools and residential buildings. Last year, it was inundated with rain and drainage water and it took the GHMC five days to clear the water causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents and the school children.

Mayor, MLA and the GHMC officials had visited and assured a permanent solution, but in the last one year nothing has been done. This year too the road got inundated in last month’s rain with overflowing drainage. I appeal to the municipal authorities to take up remedial work before anything untoward happens.
