The Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) on Saturday released posters centered on its 21st State conference to be held in Mahabunagar town from December 8.

On the occasion, the PDSU city president S. Soundarya said the conference assumes significance as it is being held in the centenary year of the Russian Bolshevik Revolution and at a time when the State and Central governments were adopting ‘anti-student policies’.

She said the union, without any fear of police lathicharge and repression, has led several student movements to exert pressure on the State government to increase hostel and mess charges as well as scholarship amount, fee reimbursement and introduction of the midday meal for Intermediate students.

At its three-day conference, the union would analyse its past movements and chalk out future strategies, said Ms. Soundarya.
