A web portal giving information on the electromagnetic field (EMF) emissions of all the nearly 12 lakh telecom towers across the country will become operational in about two months. Apart from providing information on their compliance levels, the Tarang Sanchar EMF portal will give details of new towers as well, Deputy Director General-Carrier Services, Department of Telecommunications, R.M.Chaturvedi said on Wednesday. The official, who was addressing an awareness programme on EMF emissions and telecom towers in the city, announced this while highlighting measures being undertaken to allay apprehensions about the impact of the emissions.
