The combined entrance examination for admission into post graduate courses and PG diploma courses of Osmania University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Palamuru University will start from Monday and held till June 25.
The Director of Examination, OU, B. Rajeshwar Reddy said 1.8 lakh students have applied for various courses and the highest number of applicants 20,400 were in the chemistry subject. The tests will be held in 52 centres in Hyderabad including university colleges and constituent colleges. The exams will be held in three sessions.
He said special instructions have been given to check the usage of blue tooth technology in view of the attempt to use it in the EAMCET exam. Students will be frisked for mobiles and other gadgets. Observers have also been appointed to monitor and prevent malpractice.
Osmania University has 3,727 seats while Telangana University in Nizamabad has 574 seats. Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda has 230 seats while Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, has 320 seats. The newly formed universities offer only a few courses as of now. Students can seek admission in any of these four universities on the basis of the rank secured.
