The Telangana government has decided to implement pay revision with 30 per cent fitment for the employees of the TSGenco, TSTransco and the two discoms.
A press communication from the CMO informed the same, after the Chief Minister’s review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Also announced were increments—three for employees who have completed 15 years of service, and two for those with under 15 years of service. The 30 per cent fitment will be implemented for pensioners too, the press release informed.
As of now, an amount of Rs.1,233 crore is being paid as salaries for the 26,894 employees in the Energy Department and a total of Rs.583 crore is being paid as pension for 19,292 pensioners, the press release informed. The latest fitment will increase the burden of salaries by Rs.500 crore more, it said.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao commended the employees’ role in the Telangana movement, and urged them to work with commitment for Telangana’s development.
Principal Secretary, Energy, S.K. Joshi, CMD of TSGenco & TSTransco D. Prabhakar Rao, CMD of TSSPDCL G. Raghuma Reddy, and leaders from the employees’ unions attended the review meeting.
