Parents reach Chandigarh

A total of 75 parents of the engineering students who met with a tragedy at Kullu reached Chandigarh by Monday afternoon and, barring eight of them, the rest were transported to the accident site by special buses.

Principal Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management B.R. Meena, who was camping at Chandigarh airport to coordinate the relief operations on behalf of Telangana government, said he was accompanied by his counterpart from Andhra Pradesh J.C. Sharma and TDP and TRS leaders K. Ramamohan Rao and S. Venugopalachary respectively.

On the other hand, Home Minister of Telangana N. Narasimha Reddy proceeded to Mandi along with Greyhounds SP Karthikeya. Mr. Reddy told The Hindu that four helicopters of Air Force were deployed in the search operation for dead bodies. He said a special flight was arranged from Kullu airport for 25 survivor students and a teacher up to Hyderabad.
