CM announces incentives to Revenue staff

Land records pertaining to over nine lakh acres have been rectified and data updated in the ongoing land records updation programme launched on September 15.

Of records pertaining to 11.55 lakh acres, there was clarity over ownership rights for 9.48 lakh acres (82.1 %) with the consent of farmers. “There is absolute clarity now who is the owner of the land in these cases,” officials informed Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao here on Friday.

Pleased with the progress made in the first week of the programme, Mr. Rao appreciated the Revenue Department officers for doing their job with dedication. The clarity over ownership rights was providing great relief to the farmers, he said and announced cash incentives to the staff.

Chief Minister held a meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan to review the progress of Land Records Purification programme.

Giving an update, Land Records Purification Mission Special Officer Vakati Karuna said that the programme was taken up in 10,875 villages of 568 revenue mandals and 1,468 teams were constituted for the work. There are a total of 75.54 lakh accounts in 1.78 crore survey numbers pertaining to 2.45 crore acres of land.

Mr. Rao also reviewed the sheep distribution programme and the Haritha Haram programme of improving green belt. He said a nursery should be set up in every village for the Haritha Haram from next year onwards and the local bodies should maintain them.

He said nurseries should be set up in 10,000 villages, including the new panchayats. About 100 municipalities and municipal corporations in the State should also set up nurseries in every ward and in Hyderabad.
