Surgery

Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, a tertiary eye-care centre in the public healthcare system, saw over 35 people being brought in with eye injuries on Thursday and Friday. Of these, about a dozen injuries were deemed severe and were operated on. Among the injured admitted to the in-patient wards, was an 18-year-old engineering student whose eye injuries were deemed so severe that an evaluation of vision can only be done after the wound heals, the doctors said.
