A group of students from the Osmania University and the University of Hyderabad marched towards the English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) on Monday following a ‘Chalo Eflu’ call given by student unions.

The programme was organised to protest the rustication of Eflu students Mohan Dharavath, Satish Nainala and Subhash Kumar.

The Students Forum for Justice said they were forced to organise the protest as Eflu Vice-Chancellor Sunaina Singh had failed to initiate a dialogue with them.

Apart from students, many educationists and social activists, including Chukka Ramaiah, M.Veda Kumar, Vimalakka, V. Sandhya and P.L. Vishweshwar Rao also participated in the protest.

Later, the students installed a statue of B.R. Ambedkar in the campus. Meanwhile, the student’s forum has proposed to organise a Maha Dharna on May 19 at the campus.
