Osmania varsity student commits suicide on campus

A student preparing for competitive exams committed suicide by hanging in Osmania University campus on Wednesday morning, police said.

The body of Ramesh, 25, was found hanging to a tree in the open space near Psychology department. Reasons behind his death are not yet known, Osmania University Inspector P. Ashok said.

No suicide note was found. The victim hails from Azhargudem village of Anumula mandal in Nalgonda district.

He completed MBA from Netaji College in Hyderabad. “We’re told he is residing in a hostel on the campus in one of his friends’ room and preparing for competitive exams,” police said.

The body was shifted to Osmania Hospital morgue for autopsy.
