Only 20,000 saplings to be planted on launch day

Ministers, officials camping in Karimnagar for CM visit

With Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao planning to officially launch the Telanganaku Haritha Haaram programme in Karimnagar town on July 12, the district authorities are leaving no stone unturned to make the plantation of saplings a grand success in the town.

Initially, it was announced to take up one-day one lakh saplings in Karimnagar town. But, later the authorities have decided to confine plantation of only 20,000 saplings on the day of launch by the Chief Minister on July 12. The plantation of balance 80,000 saplings would be continued over a period of time.

Mobilising support

Minister for Finance Eatala Rajender, Minister for Forests Jogu Ramanna, MPs B. Vinod Kumar and Balka Suman, local legislator Gangula Kamalakar, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Smita Sabharwal, Haritha Haaram OSD Priyanka Verghese, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed and others have been conducting meetings with various sections of society for making the plantation programme a grand success.

The officials and elected representatives have conducted meetings with the educational institutions, local IMA doctors, and others to involve their participation in the programme.

On Saturday, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, Commissioner of Police V. B. Kamalasan Reddy, Municipal Commissioner K. Shashanka and other officials inspected the areas CM proposes to visit in the town.

The Chief Minister would take up plantation of saplings on the shores of LMD reservoir. He is scheduled to address a public meeting in the sprawling Ambedkar stadium in town.

The local TRS elected representatives were entrusted the job of mobilization of the public for the plantation as well as public meeting.
