Officials told to speed up judicial process

Adilabad District Judge Aruna Sarika on Saturday asked officials to speed up the process of justice with respect to under trial prisoners. She said Collectors of Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Nirmal districts should review progress in this regard with respective superintendents of police regularly.

At a review meeting of Under Trial Committee with Collectors and SPs of these districts and members of respective Legal Service Authorities the District Judge said the police authorities need to serve non-bailable warrants on time. Further, The prisoners should be produced in courts regularly in coordination with jail officials.

The District Judge said as many as 619 cases were disposed through the Lok Adalat held in February. This enabled the District to stand at number 10 among all districts in the State in disposal of cases.
