The Exhibition Society plans to set up a school for orphans at Huzurabad and a degree college for women at Sircilla in Karimnagar district in the new year. The Exhibition Society has further resolved to adopt three government high schools in the old city – two at Gowlipura and one at Moghalpura. Sanitation and other basic facilities would be improved here, said Eatala Rajender, president, Exhibition Society, and Minister for Finance.
He told presspersons here on Tuesday that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate the 75th All India Industrial Exhibition and the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Exhibition Society on Thursday at 5 p.m. He will also unveil a huge painting depicting the evolution and growth of the ‘Numaish’ right from its inception in 1938.
Felicitations The Exhibition Society has decided to felicitate six persons who had put up their stalls in the first Numaish. They are Shah Alam Khan (Golconda Cigarettes), Amol Lahoti (Marwari Printing Press), Dr. A. Narsimha Rao (M/s J.R & Sons), Dhiren Ramesh Chandra (M/s Premji Lalji Co.), Dr. Shamshad Hussain (M/s Haji Qurban Husain & Sons) and S.K. Nizamuddin Hasan (Deccan Hats Works). This apart, three members of Exhibition Society – Justice A. Seetaram Reddy, A. Ranga Rao and N. Laxmi Naryana — who have completed 50 years of service, would be felicitated.
Mr. Rajender asked the Exhibition Society authorities to further refine the annual event in keeping with the Chief Minister’s obsession with ‘reinvention’. It was a matter of pride that the society was celebrating its platinum jubilee in the Telangana State, he said and urged it to play a crucial role in achieving the dream of ‘Bangaru Telangana’. He hinted at the idea of taking back the three acres land of the Exhibition Society given to the Central Warehousing Corporation and one acre to the State Warehousing Corporation to meet the parking needs. These godowns could be shifted elsewhere, Mr. Rajender said.
P. Narotham Reddy, honorary secretary, Exhibition Society, said an ‘Exhibition App’ was developed for the benefit of visitors. They could easily download the App and get all the information about the stalls and other things. As in the past, live video streaming of Numaish would be done. People could watch the event on Internet. In association with Kamineni Hospitals, health services would be provided at affordable rates to visitors.
