Now, a temple for Ghantasala

April 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A temple constructed for Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, the playback singer whose voice music-lovers swear they cannot forget ever, was on Sunday inaugurated by the head of Pushpagiri Peetham, Sri Sri Vidya Nrisimha Bharathi.

It is located in a two-acre campus at Kuntlur, Hayathnagar, on the capital’s outskirts where the Vegesna Foundation runs a care facility that has about 500 physically challenged youth and 300 orphans too. Vegesna is run by philanthropist ‘Vamsi’ Ramaraju who mobilises funds by organising Ghantasala concerts with different singers in the United States of America at least once a year. “Ghantasala is God for us and hence a temple for him is in order,” said Mr. Ramaraju. Others present at the inaugural include Ghantasala International Trust president Tenneti Sudha Devi.
