No visa category for parents who like to accompany minors to US for study

I was in the U.S. on a H1B visa and my son was born there. We moved to India when he was four years old. What can I do to facilitate my son’s further studies in the U.S.? Is there a way I could accompany him for further studies until he is no longer a minor?

There is no visa category for parents who would like to accompany their minor children to the United States for studying.

I had gone to the U.S. on a J1 visa and just returned last month. Am I eligible to apply for another J1 visa as my old visa reads “Bearer is not subjected to Section 212(E) India.” Now, I am searching for a job in the U.S. Can I apply for a work visa if I get a job?

If Section 212(E) does not apply, then there is no bar to your getting another J1 or a work visa. To learn more about work visas for the U.S., please visit http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/temporary-employment-help.html.

I sent an email to SEVP@ice.dhs.gov to update my passport information and was told that I should send this information to fmjfee.sevis@ice.gov. However, my email to fmjfee.sevis@ice.gov bounced back. I have already informed officials at Central Michigan University, the university to which I have been admitted, of my new passport information. Please let me know if I should write to anyone else?

The e-mail address you said you were given does not appear complete. It likely ends with @ice.dhs.gov (fmjfee.sevis@ice.dhs.gov). Try that e-mail address. If it still does not work, your university should know the proper process; contact the international student advisor at the university.
