No goal is difficult if you have the will, asserted President Ram Nath Kovind while addressing students of Raj Bhavan School here on Wednesday. Underlining the importance of hard work and pointing out that there’s “no substitute” for it, he exhorted his young audience to toil to fulfil their dreams.
The President visited the school following an invitation from Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, who apprised him about the efforts he had put in to convince the government to rebuild the school. Now, it is equipped with several facilities like digital classrooms and safe drinking water that are not available in government schools, he said, adding that the student strength has gone up from 150 during its inception to 1,100 now.
Mr. Kovind interacted with the students and said they should set goals and strive to achieve them, be content with what they have and always think positive.
Reminding the children that they should pay back to the society, he advised them to learn Hindi. He stated there are several leaders who find it difficult to communicate with people of other states due to their lack of knowledge in Hindi.
Teachers should take adequate care and teach the language to students by taking extra classes, if necessary, even if it were an optional subject, and inculcate the ideals of national integration among them, the President said.
Recalling his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, he said he was surprised to know that people there could communicate in Hindi, which they had learnt during their school days, helping them communicate with people in other parts of the country.
Mr. Narasimhan, Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiyam Srihari and Md. Mahmood Ali, senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya and local MLA Ch. Ramachandra Reddy accompanied the President during his visit to the school.
