Four days after the twin blasts at Dilsukhnagar, the city police seems to have woken up from slumber and released a list of do’s and don’ts to the managements of cinema theatres, malls, star hotels and other commercial establishments instructing them to ensure safety and security of visitors.
Orders soon
These orders will come into force with immediate effect, according to a press release issued by City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma here on Monday.
He asked managements to open a register in the format supplied by the local police to maintain details of visitors.
Door-frame metal detectors should be installed at all the entrances in theatres, malls, star hotels, lodges, shopping complexes and high-rises housing government and private offices, he said. And if already installed, it should be ensured that the security systems were operating effectively.
Closed-circuit surveillance cameras for recording suspicious movements of strangers must also be installed with a facility to store data for a period of one month, he insisted. Theatre owners have to take up thorough checking of the premises before and after every show to trace suspicious objects, if any, left by anyone. The managements were told to ensure frisking of each and every person along with the baggage at the entrance of cinema halls, shopping complexes, star hotels, lodges and other public places.
Parking of cars, motorcycles and bicycles should not be allowed in front of establishments.
Owners have to provide cloakrooms for depositing bags, besides engaging sufficient number of security staff for frisking visitors at the entrances. If need be, the city police would train the men engaged by managements, the Commissioner added.
