The National Green Tribunal (NGT) took up hearing of the petition filed before it seeking stay of works of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project on Thursday and posted the next hearing to August 16 following the State Government’s plea seeking time for filing an affidavit. According to information reaching here, the tribunal at Delhi observed that it could take a view on the petitioner’s plea only after filing of the reply (affidavit) on the issues raised by him. The petitioner has alleged that the State Government has taken up construction of the project without getting any clearances.
