Next monthly talk on ‘What Industry Wants’ on August 5

The next lecture in the “What Industry Wants” monthly series, a joint initiative of The Hindu and TalentSprint to bridge the gap between the industry and soon-to-be professionals, will be held on August 5 at the auditorium of C.R.Rao Institute, University of Hyderabad, Gachibowli.

Managing director of Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. V. Laxmikanth will deliver the lecture. The event starts at 11 a.m.

Exposure

The programme provides the necessary exposure for fresh graduates on what career opportunity lies ahead for them in the IT Industry.

As part of the event, industry captains address fresh graduates on what the industry expects from their new recruits, how the industry is changing and what are the new trends emerging. Further, they also cover upcoming career opportunities, both with Indian and global perspective.

The distinguished speakers at the event not only have outstanding industry perspective, but also understand the ground realities in Indian colleges and universities.

Offshoring pioneer

A physicist by education, Mr. Laxmikanth has been with the IT industry since 1982. He started his career as a programmer and over time held various technical and leadership roles. His experience ranges from software product development and support, product and services marketing, BPO and systems administration. He has been a pioneer in the development of the offshore delivery model and has been a key member in establishing and running offshore delivery centres for MNCs like Intergraph Corporation, D.E.Shaw & Co., ADP and currently Broadridge.
