Newly-wed couple killed in road accident

A newly-wed couple returning home after offering prayers at Venkateswara (Sanghi) temple was killed in a road accident at Hayathngar on the city outskirts on Friday.

Vijay Kumar, 27, and his wife, Rajani, 24, who got married five days ago, went to the temple in the afternoon. Around 4.30 p.m., they started for their house in Saidabad colony on a bike when an unidentified vehicle hit them on Koheda bridge-Sanghi temple stretch, Hayathnagar Inspector, V. Bhaskar, said.

Death was instant for Kumar. His wife was rushed to a private hospital in Hayathnagar with critical wounds. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment in two hours.

Lorry runs over man

In another accident, Narsimha Rao, 44, a newspaper agent, was run over by a lorry in Hayathnagar. A resident of Raghavendra colony, the victim was turning right at Bhagyalata colony junction when a truck hit him on Thursday.
