Nayeem case: Probe into individual charges may take time

May 13, 2017 01:08 am | Updated 01:09 am IST - HYDERABAD

While the State government had decided to initiate action against police officers who had 'connived with' slain gangster Nayeemuddin, the probe into the individual charges is likely to take long time.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials, who probed all cases related to Nayeem found documents like sale deeds, registration certificates and agreement papers during searches at different places.

"Ascertaining complicity of a particular officer in such transactions will surely take longer time as we need to examine each paper and the officer concerned," a top police officer said.

Sixteen police officers, against whom minor disciplinary action is to be taken, are: Intelligence Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amarender Reddy (presently with Telangana State Police Academy), Sanga Reddy DSP Thirupathanna. Malakpet Traffic Inspector Venkat Reddy, Hayathnagar Inspector Narender Goud, Inspector Kishan, Traffic Inspector Ravi Kiran Reddy, Hyderabad Task Force Inspector Balvanthaiah, Inspectors Ravinder and Majid, Head constables, Anand, Mohammed Miya and Balaiah.
