The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is planning to re-launch the cruise service covering the picturesque Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam in the Kurnool package from Hyderabad shortly following heavy inflows this year.
The two days and one night trip would be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays from here. The trip would commence in a non-air conditioned bus at 8 a.m. and will reach Nagarjunasagar 10 a.m.
The boat would start from the Nagarjunasagar dam and lunch would be served onboard midway while cruising on the Krishna waters. By 5 p.m., the cruise would arrive at Srisailam and after visiting the dam, tourists would be taken to Sakshi Ganapathi temple for darshan and would have dinner and take rest in the night.
The next morning, after breakfast and darshan at the Mallikarjunaswamy temple in Srisailam and enjoying the ropeway service, tourists would start for return journey in the cruise. After visiting Ethipotala waterfalls near Nagarjunasagar, they would reach the capital in a non AC bus by 10 p.m., said a senior official.
The trip fare costs Rs.3150 per head and includes food and accommodation. Authorities are also offering an option for those planning for a one-way cruise ride at Rs.600 per head and only two-way cruise ride without food, accommodation and darshan at Rs.1000 per head, he added. Authorities had suspended the package trip due last year to low water levels in Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam.
