In a significant development, Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary M. V. Sridhar has been named BCCI general manager of the high-profile Cricket Operations panel. The HCA has also got its highest representation on various sub-committees in recent memory, at the annual general meeting in Chennai on Saturday.
“I am honoured and I will try my best to live up to the expectations,” Dr. Sridhar informed The Hindu , even while gently reminding that his appointment was a reflection of the importance the BCCI top brass gives the HCA.
The other major beneficiary in Sunday’s meeting was former minister and incumbent HCA president G. Vinod, who heads the Television Production and Operations sub-committee.
HCA joint-secretary Seshadri Venkateswaran was named on the BCCI marketing sub-committee. “We are all glad that the HCA has got this kind of recognition,” Mr. Venkateswaran said.
