A dancer from Mumbai, who was brought to Hyderabad to perform for the New Year’s eve celebration in a hotel, was allegedly raped by a person.
While the sexual assault was committed on the intervening night of December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014, the Mumbai police on Wednesday arrested a person identified as Shakeel who had booked the flight ticket for the woman to reach Hyderabad.
According to information reaching here, the woman was taken to an undisclosed location in Hyderabad after landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, where four persons violated her.
Shamshabad ACP J. Bhadreshwar said no rape case was reported in Shamshabad police station limits but he had learnt from the Mumbai police that the offence was committed somewhere in Hyderabad.
Woman alleges rapeA woman lodged a complaint with the Patancheru police on Wednesday alleging that she was raped by a one Narasimhulu of Chinnakanjerla village late on Tuesday night.
According to CI Shankar Reddy, the woman told the police that she had loaned Rs. 30,000 to Narasimhulu six years ago and when she demanded that he repay the money, Narasimhulu raped her with the assistance of his wife Sushila.
The police registered a case against the couple under Prevention of SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act and under Section 376 of IPC.
