Keen on developing eco-tourism projects in the State, Telangana State Forest Development Corporation has proposed projects in PPP mode to attract visitors looking to enjoy nature and wildlife.

One site has been identified in the backwaters of Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir in Nalgonda district. About 15 acres of Revenue land will be acquired soon and the proposal has been submitted to the Nalgonda Collector for transfer of land to the TSFDC. The site located between two majestic hills with beautiful view of nearby Nallamala forest is nearer to the Amarabad Tiger Reserve, say Corporation Chairman B. Narender Reddy and Managing Director Chandan Mitra.

A small base camp will be set up at Vizag Colony near the project to attract nature lovers with fishing facility. Independent cottages, common dormitories, restaurant and other amenities would come up and a tourism circuit connecting nearby interesting places is planned, Mr. Mitra said.

Another eco-tourism project would come up at Jannaram mandal in Mancherial district near Kawal Tiger Reserve. About six acres of private land will be purchased for the purpose and the proposal was sent to the Collector. The place will serve as visitor amenity centre for those planning to go on a jungle safari.
