Modi govt. a failure: Rajeev Gowda

May 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 03, 2016 12:14 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The NDA government has no achievements of its own to boast about. If there are any achievements, they are only a continuation of the UPA’s policies. “The one-year report card of the Modi government is a big failure,” remarked Rajeev Gowda, MP and AICC spokesperson.

He termed the one-year of NDA rule as a story of ‘missed opportunities’. People expected magical changes to take place but they had to settle for a ‘slogan Murugan’ instead of a Quick Gun Murugan.

Most of the schemes the NDA government is passing off as its own are actually UPA programmes with different titles.

Prof. Gowda was addressing a press conference here on Monday, as part of a series of press conferences planned across the country, to expose the ‘hollowness’ of the Modi government.

Under the UPA, he said, the average growth rate was 7.6 per cent and even during the global recession, the Indian economy didn’t collapse.
