In a bid to speed up the double-bedroom housing scheme with the active participation of legislators, Minister for Housing and Endowments A. Indrakaran Reddy has sought their cooperation in the selection of beneficiaries, identification of sites and monitoring progress of works. In separate letters addressed to legislators on Saturday, the minister highlighted the significance of the double-bedroom housing scheme aimed at bettering the self-esteem of below poverty line families by providing them a respectable shelter and the role they could play in its implementation.

Stating that the housing scheme had been grounded across the State after overcoming the teething troubles the minister noted that the cooperation and participation of the legislators would go a long way in its speedy implementation. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had sanctioned 2.6 lakh houses.
