Miscreants make vain bid to rob ATM

December 15, 2013 11:08 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 11:26 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Unidentified persons made an unsuccessful attempt to steal cash from an ATM centre at Santoshnagar crossroads in the early hours of Sunday.

Using a crowbar, the miscreants managed to open the door of the ATM machine but could not break open the cash chest. Customers saw the damaged machine in the morning and informed the bank and the police officials.

CCTV footage inside the centre showed that the intruders had covered their face with a towel and entered the premises.

The bank’s security guard claimed that he was asleep in the ATM centre but he was not visible in the CCTVs footage. Police said the guard could have gone home to sleep and returned in the morning only to know that some persons tried to steal cash from the ATM.
