The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) authorities have formed 10 joint teams in order to tackle the civic situation in the city in view of the heavy downpour. The teams will take care of its corridors and work spots at different stretches.

Workers have started scraping the road surfaces at various locations on stretches which were damaged due to heavy rainfall and inundation.

The action was also a result of decisions taken by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao and other ministers who were supervising the relief and road restoration measures. Each team formed by the HMR and L&T is headed by a Deputy Executive Engineer of HMRL.

The teams have been provided with bulldozers, auto trolleys, adequate quantity of wet mix macadam (WMM), shellmac and sufficient number of workers to carryout temporary road restoration works.

Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy inspected different metro rail stretches along with L&T Managing Director Shivanand Nimbargi, HMRL Chief Engineer Md. Ziauddin, and other officials, said a press release.
