Metro Rail: police take up traffic issues

The city traffic police have made several suggestions on the works to be taken up by the Metro Rail authorities and the municipal corporation for minimising the traffic problems caused due to execution of the ongoing Metro Rail works across the three corridors.

Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M. Jitender in his presentation made to Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, at the special task force meeting, indicated specific improvement/ rectification works necessary at various construction sites. Mr. Sharma called for a separate meeting every week between the officials of the departments concerned to formulate the works to be taken up.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy said that of the 281 properties (214 private & 67 government vested municipal properties or GVMs), 24 properties have been dismantled and for another 125 properties, cheques would be issued soon.

It was also decided that a joint effort will be made by the Irrigation Department, RTC and Metro Rail to finalise the technical parameters of the proposed third bridge connecting the Rangmahal Junction to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station. Other officials were present, a release said.
