A Maoist militia member from Chhattisgarh allegedly carrying wall posters bearing the name of the banned outfit in support of the ongoing Maoist Martyrs’ Week was arrested by the police at Lenin Colony in Telangana’s tribal hinterland of Charla mandal on Wednesday.

According to the police the arrested person was identified as Madivi Ungaiah alias Dudi, 33, of Rampur village in Usoor block of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh.

He was nabbed during a joint patrolling by the police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men at Lenin Colony in the agency mandal of Bhadrachalam division in the early hours of the day.

Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s four wall posters were seized from his possession, police said.

They added that Ungaiah had been working as a militia member of the CPI (Maoist) Shabari Area Committee for the past five years.
