An eight-year-old girl Reena sustained burns on her limbs and back after a labourer Narasimha hurled an acid bottle on her in an inebriated condition at Jeedimetla on Friday.
The girl was admitted in a private hospital. Her condition was stated to be out of danger. The labourer was taken into custody. Reena lives in Jagadgirigutta with her grandmother.
“She comes to the local bus-stop daily and does petty works at the shops,” the police said.
Narasimha, who was heavily drunk, hurled an acid bottle at the girl when she asked him for a tip.
