Vexed over his sisters indulging in flesh trade and bringing disrepute to the family, a man strangulated them both to death at Saidabad late on Saturday night, police said.

Arvind Kumar Yadav, a daily wager, had been living with his family, including his parents and the victims – Preethi Kumari (25) and Kanchan (23) – at a rented house in Posalabasthi at Saidabad.

On Saturday afternoon, Arvind picked up a quarrel with Kanchan over her activities and strangulated her with a data cable wire. Later, he throttled Preethi, who witnessed the killing after the woman told him that she would inform the police, Inspector Saidabad, A. Srinivasulu said.

Although, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon, it came to light only in the night when one of the family members complained to the police.

The police, who launched a manhunt for Arvind, nabbed him on Sunday afternoon. He told the police that the family was earning a bad name as they thought Preethi and Kanchan were indulging in sex trade and were also addicted to liquor.
