In a shocking incident, a labourer killed his 15-month-old daughter by hitting her against the road after an argument with his wife at Gaganpahad in Shamshabad on Tuesday.

Damoder and his wife, Sulochana, quarrelled over the latter going to her mother’s house in Jiyaguda for Rakhi festival recently. She returned to Gaganapahad on Monday night when Damoder fought with her again and allegedly beat up her, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Inspector D. Durga Prasad, said.

Upset over her husband’s behaviour, Sulochana with her two daughters went to her elder sister’s house in the same locality and stayed there for the night. On learning this, Damoder went there on Tuesday morning and again picked up a quarrel with her.

As Sulochana refused to come home, Damoder caught hold of his elder daughter Akshaya (4), and hurled her into the air. Even as the girl fell on the road sustaining bleeding wounds on the nose, he lifted his younger daughter, Meenakshi, 15 months, and hit her against the road twice. She died on the spot after sustaining serious internal injuries.
