Cyberabad police on Sunday detained an airport employee, holding him responsible for the murder of a 19-year-old girl on the terrace of his house at Ameerpet village under Maheswaram police station limits on Saturday night.

Twenty-two-year-old D. Krishna had fallen in love with the girl, who was also his relative and neighbour two years ago. They would regularly meet on his terrace. On Saturday night too, the duo met on the terrace after Krishna’s return from office. Police said the couple indulged in coitus, following which, the girl began bleeding profusely. She complained of severe headache and collapsed suddenly.

A few minutes later, Krishna realised that the girl had died. Shocked, he carried her body on his shoulders and dumped it in the bushes near a tamarind tree in front of his house.

The incident came to light after the girl’s family noticed the body and lodged a police complaint alleging that Krishna had raped and later killed the girl.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case of murder against Krishna under IPC Section 302 and took him into custody. Senior police officials said the reasons for girl’s death could be ascertained only after getting the autopsy report.
