Common Entrance Tests for selection of students for admission to the three-year and give-year law course and the PG law course were conducted throughout the State on Saturday in as many as 15 centres.
As Sri Venkateswara University was entrusted for the third time, with the task of conducting the State-wide examinations, the question paper code (set) for the examination was picked up by the chairman of the A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Prof. P. Jayaprakash Rao and was immediately communicated through SMSs to all the examination centres which eventually released the question papers accordingly, as per the code communicated.
A brief ceremony to mark the ‘picking up' of the set of coded question papers was held in the official chamber of the SVU's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N. Prabhakara Rao in his presence. According to Prof. A. Papa Rao of SVU who is also the convener for the LAWCET and PGLCET-2011, in all 17,510 candidates (13,131 who have registered for the three-year LAWCET, 2880 for the five-year LAWCET and 1,499 for the PGLCET) are expected to have taken the CET at different centres in the State. The exact number as to how many have actually written the test was expected to be known only late Saturday night .
Following are the centres where the three-year and five-year LAWCET were held in the State in two sessions on Saturday: Tirupati, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool, Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Warrangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Nellore, Guntur, Vijayawada, Rahahmundry, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam.
The PGLCET centres were: Tirupati, Hyderabad, Warrangal and Visakhapatnam.
