Minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao, who is touring Singapore to attract investment to the State, met several top industry representatives on Wednesday.
A Star agency — Agency for Science, Technology and Research — company representatives expressed their willingness to work with the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) of the Telangana government, and entered into a bilateral agreement which would also facilitate student exchange programme.
Mr. Rama Rao explained to Mr. Teo Eng Cheong, CEO of Surbana Jurong, the company that looks after the housing programme in Singapore, the massive housing programme being taken up in the State, and invited the company to take up a multi-storeyed building project in Hyderabad. He also requested them to do a study on roads, electricity, drinking water and other infrastructure facilities in Hyderabad. Mr. Cheong said that a team would be sent soon. Earlier in the day Mr. Ramarao met Indian High Commissioner Vijay Thakur Singh and later attended a business session organised by the CII and Indian High Commission where he interacted with heads of 18 companies.
