Telugu Desam MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Friday wanted Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to prove his claim that he was Hyderabadi by introducing a resolution in Assembly on separate Telangana.
Responding to questions at a press conference, Mr. Revanth Reddy said it was the opportune time for Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy to strengthen his identity and show his concern for a cause.
Ridicules Chief Minister
On Chief Minister's comment that he would work for fulfilling the last wish of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the MLA said everyone had a right to resort to day-dreaming. He was referring to Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy's wish of returning 41 of the 42 candidates from the State in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 to enable AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister.
He wondered if the Chief Minister has left the 42nd seat to Kadapa MP Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy anticipating that he would anyway not be in the Congress by then.
Asked to comment on offer of Deputy Chief Minister's post to Telangana, he said it was internal affair of the Congress.
Reciprocating the Chief Minister call for cooperation, he said TDP would play the role of constructive Opposition but wanted the former not induct into his Cabinet six former Ministers, who faced corruption and nepotism charges.
This would be in tune with his promise that the Chief Minister would ensure corruption-free, transparent government, he said and took the names of Kanna Lakshminarayana, Botsa Satyanarayana, N. Raghuveera Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Vatti Vasant Kumar and Shilpa Mohan Reddy.
“It will be acid test for the Chief Minister. He will pass, if he keeps them out and fails if he continues them”, he added.
