KCR flays Opposition

October 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Opposition members for their irresponsible act in ‘forcing suspension on themselves” in a bid to stay away from the Assembly by disrupting the House and thus not playing their role positively in the interests of the people.

The fact that the suspension was slapped against them despite appeals from himself and Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary to play their role as a responsible Opposition was regrettable, he stated, in his reply just before the House was adjourned ‘sine die’. Do the Congress and Telugu Desam, the parties that ruled erstwhile Andhra Pradesh for 58 years think that we can derail the development that they achieved in just 16 months ?, he fumed.

He pointed out that in the current session, healthy debates and fruitful discussions on important topics like Mission Kakatiya, power sector, drinking water, irrigation, minority issues and most importantly the farm sector including farmers’ suicides had taken place. He appealed to the people not to be misled by the machinations of Opposition that only wanted to politicise issues and gain mileage in the process.
