‘KCR family vs people of Telangana in 2019’

Congress set to make a come-back, say leaders at Jadcherla meet

The Congress has declared that the next elections would be fought between KCR’s (Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao) family and people of Telangana as the family has shattered the 60-year dream of Telangana people with their autocratic and undemocratic rule.

Addressing a public meeting at Jadcherla here on Wednesday, all the Congress leaders warned that jobless youth who fought for Telangana and the families of farmers who committed suicide would ensure that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders would be jobless in 2019.

Predicting a landslide victory for Congress, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the State government “cheated” all sections of society and now it was creating a wrong impression that it had resolved all the problems.

He said lakhs of poor people who were denied promised double bedroom houses would make sure that the KCR’s family was evicted from Pragathi Bhavan. Students, who waited endlessly for fee reimbursement, would not let KCR cheat them and their parents again.

Corruption charges

Charging the TRS of massive corruption, he said ₹7,000 crore was given to contractors on single tender reflecting the corrupt practices. He said TRS had created rift between Lambadas and Adivasis to divert attention from its failure to increase reservation as promised. AICC Telangana incharge secretary R.C. Khuntia gave a call for ‘TRS Hatao, Telangana Ko Bachao’ and said that the Telangana State was not formed for the benefit of only KCR family. Former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy said ₹40,000 crore was given to just one company in the last three years and Congress has all the details of it. He predicted that KCR would team up with BJP after the elections.

Mr. Revanth Reddy drew huge response from the people as he targeted the Chief Minister relating his speech to the suicides of over 1200 people for Telangana.

He said Congress should take Gujarat experience as an inspiration where despite not being in power for 22 years party shook the BJP’s roots. Shabbir Ali ridiculed KCR saying he built a bullet-proof bathroom when lakhs of people were waiting for double bedroom houses.

Former MP Hanumantha Rao said KCR insulted people’s poets like Gaddar and Vimalakka and Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan had also become a stooge of KCR. Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar questioned as to why KCR did not touch the feet of President Ramnath Kovind while doing the same to former President Pranab Mukherjee. “Is it because he is a Dalit,” he asked.

TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said bringing Congress party to power in Telangana would be the best gift for Sonia Gandhi who granted statehood despite huge political setbacks.
