Giving back to the Opposition parties which termed his survey that gave TRS 111 out of 119 Assembly seats in 2019 elections as “bogus”, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has challenged the Congress MLAs to resign and pave way for elections to determine if he was right or wrong.

“If you have any pride, you resign and let’s see who will win”. You will not even retain your deposits”. He expressed himself against TRS MLAs resigning as the party had done too many such sacrifices during the movement for Statehood and its leaders were “sick and tired”.

Mr. Rao was addressing a meeting at the party office when two leaders from Adilabad -- a former TDP MP Ramesh Rathod and a former district Congress president P. Ravinder Rao -- joined the TRS.

Counselling the Congress not to undermine his survey, he said the TRS and Congress could have their own election surveys. The TRS surveys were realistic and the party would not speak other than facts like the Congress. Moreover, the surveys were based on inputs from public.

He felt it might not be a wonder if the results of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections last year repeated themselves in 2019 polls as all sections of people were happy with the TRS government. It would be negative marks for Congress if the party continued to target TRS and it would not even retain two seats as his survey showed.

Turning to the BJP, he said the party was rightly not tipped to win a single Assembly constituency as per the survey because the party lost in all the divisions that were represented by BJP MLAs in GHMC polls. The Opposition was in shambles and unable to digest the survey results which was evident from the reaction of senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya.

He said the Opposition parties were clueless on the successes of the State government. The Congress petitioned the courts four times in 15 days in a bid to stay the Kaleswaram project. After two single judges of High Court passed strictures against the Congress in separate cases, the party approached a division bench which sought to know the urgency in the matter. Then, the Congress petitioned the Supreme Court.

He warned his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu not to meddle in the affairs of Telangana and demanded an apology from the latter for telling at the TDP Mahanadu that the TRS government failed to keep its promises to people.
