Sudheendra Chilappagari (24), a native of Karimnagar and co-founder of a start-up firm Belong.co, has been named in the Forbes 2017 ‘30 Under Asia 30 List’.

Forbes 30 Under Asia 30, which is a list issued annually by Forbes magazine, recognises the brightest young minds. The 2017 Asia edition highlights 300 of the region’s best young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers across 10 different fields.

This year, Mr. Sudheendra has been featured under the Tech entrepreneurs helping big and small business succeed. He co-founded the Belong.co, an online recruiting platform based in Bengaluru, that in addition to examining resumes, uses big data technologies to analyse the candidates’ social media behavior and responses to get more holistic picture of their likes and dislikes.

A student of Paramita High School of the town, he completed his B. Tech from BITS Pilani (Rajasthan) in 2014. Mr. Sudheendra started the Belong.co along with his senior Vijay Sharma, friends Saiteja Veera and Rishab Kaul providing employment to over 100 youth. The startup has more than 80 companies as clients that include Amazon, Flipkart, Cisco, United Health Group, Uber, Ola, Practo, Urban Ladder, Zivame, Thought Works, Reliance Jio and others.

His father Ch. Manohara Rao, a librarian in government junior college in the district, was excited to know about that his son’s name was included in the Forbes magazine list. “I know about his creativity and down to earth character. I am very happy for his distinction at a young age”, he said proudly.

He said that Sudheendra was part of Tata Jagruthi yatra covering a distance of 9,000 km in 15 states meeting and interacting with eminent industrialists and others. This had helped in achieving his goal to do something different in his life instead of settling for a job. His mother Vanaja is a government school teacher in the town.

Mr. Sudheendra, who is presently camping in Malayasia, told The Hindu on Saturday “I am honoured and humbled by Forbes 30 Under Asia 30 recognition and shared the recognition with my partners”. He said that the Belong’s vision is to bring companies and candidates together so that they can create maximum impact in the world. “We think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be building Belong from India and to serve the world”, he noted.

He thanked his teachers in BITS Pilani and the Paramita Educational Institutions here. He also called upon the present generation to explore ample opportunities and resources in his world.
