Jeedimetla radial road this year

HMDA chief irked at slow pace of works

March 18, 2017 01:02 am | Updated 01:03 am IST - HYDERABAD

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has taken an assurance from the contractor doing the radial road work between Jeedimetla and Saregudem that most of the 8.50 kilometre road would be completed by May 2017.

The rest of the stretch would be completed within two months from then, once the utilities are shifted.

HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu on Friday inspected the ongoing work at the site taken up at a cost of ₹69.90 crore with funding by the Japan International Cooperation Agency back in 2013.

When he expressed his anger over the slow pace of work, the contractor, GVR-DRA, sought to put the blame on delay of shifting utilities like water pipelines.
