September 05, 2013 01:09 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:20 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was on Wednesday evening discharged from the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

The YSRC president was shifted back to the Chanchalguda jail after doctors certified his recovery from ill-health, caused by his week-long hunger strike in support of a unified Andhra Pradesh State.

Jagan had gone on strike in jail on August 25, and was shifted to Osmania General Hospital when his health deteriorated on the night of August 29. The next day, he was moved to NIMS, where he was forcibly administered intravenous fluids on the order of court on Saturday.

The court permitted his wife, Bharati, to be with him, but barred his mother Vijayamma and other attendants.
