It’s a flop show, says Uttam

Congress set to return to power

May 25, 2017 12:22 am | Updated 12:23 am IST - Hyderabad

Describing the tour of BJP national president Amit Shah in Telangana as a total flop show, Telangana Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the BJP owes an explanation to the people for not fulfilling the promises made to Telangana in the AP Reorganisation Act.

Mr. Reddy said the Railway Coach Factory in Kazipet, Steel Factory in Byyaram of Khammam, Tribal University, Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) and other major schemes remained unfulfilled. “The Centre could not even bifurcate the High Court in the last three years,” he said while addressing the party workers and leaders at Suryapet on Wednesday.

Mr. Reddy said the BJP Government did not accord National Project status to any irrigation project in Telangana nor did it bring back the black money to deposit ₹ 15 lakh in every bank account it promised in the elections.

BJP will lose

The TPCC chief said that Amit Shah is hoping to replicate Uttar Pradesh model in Telangana but people of Telangana would repeat Punjab, Bihar or Delhi model of rejecting BJP in their State.

Congress party is all set to return to power in next elections in Telangana, he said.

He also questioned the silence of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao over Amit Shah’s claims of Centre giving ₹ 1 lakh crore funds to Telangana State. “While KCR keeps praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah has openly targeted the TRS government for its failures. KCR should give an explanation over his secret pact with the BJP,” he said adding that Both BJP and TRS are ‘secret partners’ and they were trying to mislead the people through blame-game politics.

Failures

On the public meeting at Sangareddy to be addressed by Rahul Gandhi on June 1, he asked the Congress leaders to ensure participation of at least 10 workers from each gram panchayat in the State. Mr. Rahul Gandhi would release a charge-sheet on the failures of TRS and BJP governments during the last three years and also unveil Congress party’s plans to take agriculture and other sectors out of crisis. AICC secretary R.C. Khuntia, former minister R. Damodar Reddy, DCC president B. Bhikshamaiah Goud and other senior leaders addressed the meeting.
