Inter student falls to death

December 23, 2014 01:03 am | Updated 01:03 am IST - HYDERABAD:

An Intermediate first-year student Sai Ram, 18, who was missing from Sunday from his college in Gudavally near Vijayawada, died after falling from a four-storeyed building here at Kukatpally on Monday.

Though no one had seen the teenager going up the Icon enclave in Adityanagar and jumping from the top floor, circumstantial evidence suggests he leapt to death, KPHB Colony Inspector V. Sreekanth Goud said.

A student of Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy at Gudavalli, Sai Ram hails from Vijayawada.

“The student was reportedly upset over not performing well in some exams and left the hostel where he was residing without the knowledge of his lecturers,” the Inspector said. Sai Ram didn’t go to his house in Vijayawada.

On learning about Sai Ram’s disappearance, his parents approached Patamata police who registered a case of missing person. Even as police and his family searched Vijayawada and surrounding areas and inquired with their relatives, somehow the student reached Hyderabad.
