Inclusive Development in which its fruits reach all the sections of people is key for realising Golden Telangana, said noted economist and former vice-chancellor N. Linga Murthy.

He explained that if a large number of people were ignored in the development process it would not be sustainable. He was delivering the keynote address at the inaugural of the two-day national seminar on “Rejuvenation of Telangana Economy: Opportunities and Challenges,” organised by the Department of Economics in Telangana University, here on Wednesday.

Prof. Linga Murthy said that decentralisation of power was more important to ensure participatory development and equitable distribution of resources. “Development of a handful of people and concentration of wealth in a few hands does not augur well for the all-round development of Telangana, which is endowed with rich natural resources,” he added.

Registrar Y. Jaya Prakash Rao, who was the chief guest, highlighted the importance of education and research in the development of Telangana and sought the effective utilisation of human resources.
